Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive rods, 1.1-1.6 x 4.0-6.3 µm. Produce ellipsoidal, terminal spores in
slightly swollen sporangia. Motile.
Colonies are olive brown circular, 0.5-1.2 mm in diameter on marine agar 2216
medium at 28 ºC for 3 days. Grows at temperature range of 20-60 ºC (optimum 28-37
ºC);  pH 6.0-10.0 (optimum pH 8.0) and NaCl tolerance up to 10%. Aerobic.
Isolated from a sediment of the South China Sea.
Susceptible to ampicillin, rifampicin, streptomycin, kanamycin, gentamicin, tetracycline, chloramphenicol, erythrocin and polymyxin B.
