Synonyms:

Saccharococcus caldoxylosilyticus Ahmad et al. 2000.
Gram-positive rods, 0.8-0.9 x 2.3 µm, occuring singly, in pairs or chains. Motile. Spores
are ellipsoidal, located  centrally to terminally, slightly swelling the sporangium.
Colonies are flat to convex, round or lobed, smooth and opaque. Grows at 43-75 ºC;
optimal growth at 65 ºC,
at pH 5-9 and in 1% NaCl (no growth in 5% NaCl).
Facultatively anaerobic.
Grows on  Luria broth (LB) containing 0.5 or 1.0% xylose.
Isolated from soil in Australia. Sensible to sodium azide (0.02%), chloramphenicol (25 µg/ml), streptomycin sulphate (25 µg/ml) and
ampicillin (15 µg/ml).
Unknown (none).
