Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-variable rods, 0.8-1.2 x 3.2-7.5 µm. Motile. Endospore-forming.
Colonies are grey opaque and 2-5 mm in diameter on BHI agar + blood.
Growth occurs at 25-45 ºC (optimum 37 ºC). NaCl requirement < 5%.  Aerobic.
Isolated from the fecal flora of a Gorilla gorilla gorilla from Cameroon.
Susceptible to amoxicillin, nitrofurantoin, erythromycin, doxycycline, rifampin, vancomycin, gentamycin and imipenem but resistant to
trimethoprimsulfamethoxazole, ciprofloxacin, ceftriaxon and amoxicillin-clavulanic acid.
Undetermined.
