Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive rods with rounded ends, 0.5-0.7 x 1.6 to 2.8 µm. Motile. Produce
ellipsoidal endospores in terminal position; not swelling the sporangium (admin note).
After 48 h growth on 2216E medium at 30 ºC, colonies are circular, cream white,
smooth and 1.5±0.15 mm in diameter. Growth occurs at 10-30 ºC (optimum 25 ºC), at
pH 6.0-11.0 (optimum 8.0) and in the presence of 0-7% (w/v) NaCl (optimum 0% (w/v)
NaCl). Aerobic.
Isolated from a sediment sample of the coastal area collected in Xiapu County, Fujian Province, PR China.
Sensitive to vibramycin, erythromycin, gentamycin, neomycin, rifampicin, gentamycin, polymyxin B, vancomycin, penicillin G,
cefazolin, ampicillin, chloromycetin, streptomycin, tetracycline, oxacillin and amikacin, kanamycin, but not to clindamycin, streptomycin
and azithromycin.
Undetermined.
