Gram-positive cells, generally with three to four globular elements arranged in chains
1.3-1.7 x 2.0-4.0 µm with ends of the chains usually tapered. Non-spore-forming.
Non-motile.
Colonies are smooth, convex, entire margins, cream to white, glistening, and soft
consistency. Grows at temperature 28-42 ºC (optimum 39-41 ºC), pH 6.3-7.2
(optimum pH 6.5-6.9). Anaerobic.
Isolated from faeces of human adults, vagina and sewage.
