Gram-negative rods with rounded ends, 0.7 x 1.3-2.2 μm, occuring singly or in pairs.
Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
After 48 h of incubation on trypticase soy agar at 28 ºC, colonies are beige, smooth,
shiny, non-translucent, round, mostly regular in shape with entire edges, ~ 1-1.5 mm
in diameter. Grows on MacConkey agar. Growth occurs at 15-30 ºC and at pH 6-7.
Grows weakly at 37 ºC. No growth at 4 or 42 ºC. Grows in1% and 2% (weakly) NaCl.
Aerobic.
Isolated from bulk soil obtained from a longterm arable field under maize monoculture in the Netherlands.
