Positive results for acid and alkaline phosphatase, catalase, leucine arylamidase, naphthol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase,
beta-galactosidase, beta-glucosidase, urease, acid production from glycerol, D-ribose, D-glucose, D-fructose,
N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, amygdalin, arbutin, L-salicin, cellobiose, maltose, sucrose, trehalose, starch and glycogen.
Can utilize D-glucose, D-galactose, D-fructose, D-mannose, amygdalin, methyl beta-D-xylopyranoside, arbutin, L-salicin, cellobiose,
starch, glycogen, gluconate, malate, N-acetylglucosamine and trehalose.
Negative results for alpha-chymotrypsin, alpha-galactosidase, alpha-glucosidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase,
beta-glucuronidase, indole production, esculin hydrolysis, alpha-mannosidase, alpha-fucosidase, esterase (C4), esterase lipase (C8),
lipase (C14), valine arylamidase, cystine arylamidase, trypsin, gelatin hydrolysis, starch hydrolysis, DNase, nitrate reduction, oxidase,
xanthine hydrolysis, hypoxanthine hydrolysis, L-tyrosine hydrolysis, Tweens 20, 40, 60 and 80 hydrolysis, acid production from
L-arabinose, inulin, raffinose, D-xylose and other API 50CH substrates.
No utilization of adipate, D- and L- arabinose, D- and L-arabitol, citrate, glycerol, 2- and 5-ketogluconate, inositol, maltose, mannitol,
sucrose, D-sorbitol, L- and D-xylose.

Gram-negative rods. Non-motile. Non-sporeforming.
Colonies are circular, convex, entire, cream in colour and 1.0-1.5 mm in diameter on
R2A agar after 3 days of incubation at 28 ºC. Growth also occurs on NA, LB agar, MA
and ISP2 agar. Grows at 10-55 ºC (optimally at 28 ºC), pH 3.0-8.0 (optimally at pH 6.0)
and with 0-4.0% (w/v) NaCl, optimmum in 0% NaCl. Strictly aerobic.
Isolated from forest soil at Daejeon in Korea. Susceptible to chloramphenicol, gentamicin, streptomycin, tetracycline, amphotericin,
oleandomycin and polymyxin B. Resistant to amoxicillin, ampicillin, hygromycin and roxithromycin.
