Can utilize D- and L-arabinose, ribose, D- and L-xylose, D-galactose, D-glucose, D-fructose, D-mannose, rhamnose, inositol,
mannitol, sorbitol, esculin, xylitol, D-fucose, N-acetylglucosamine, gluconate, malate, maltose (weak reaction) and capric acid (weak
reaction).
Negative results for alpha- and beta-glucosidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, lipase (C14), alpha-mannosidase and nitrate
reduction.
No utilization of glycerol, erythritol, adonitol, methyl beta-D-xylopyranoside, L-sorbose, dulcitol, methyl alpha-D-mannoside, methyl
alpha-D-glucoside, amygdalin, arbutin, salicin, cellobiose, lactose, melibiose, sucrose, trehalose, inulin, melezitose, raffinose,
starch, glycogen, gentiobiose, turanose, D-lyxose, D-tagatose, L-fucose, D- and L-arabitol, 2- and 5-ketogluconate, gelatin, adipic
acid, citrate and phenylacetic acid.

Gram-negative rods, 0.8-1.0 x 1.3-2.0 μm. Non-motile.
Colonies are ivory, creamy and circular. Growth occurs at 10-30 ºC (optimum 25 ºC)
and pH 4.0-9.5 (optimum pH 5.0-7.0). Can grow on MacConkey medium. Obligately
aerobic.
Isolated from forest soil of Jirisan Mountain, Republic of Korea. Resistant to ampicillin and novobiocin. Susceptible to gentamicin,
chloramphenicol, kanamycin, nalidixic acid, rifampicin, streptomycin and tetracycline.
