Description is based mostly on API ZYM and API 20 NE results.
Positive results for acid and alkaline phosphatase, catalase, esterase (C4), esterase (C8), naphthol AS-BI-phosphohydrolase and
leucine arylamidase.
Can assimilate D-glucose, N-acetylglucosamine, D-mannitol, malic acid (weak), potassium gluconate (weak), phenylacetic acid
(weak), acetate (weak), propionate, valerate 2- and 5-ketogluconate, L-histidine, D-sorbitol, inositol, L-alanine and L-serine.
Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, esculin hydrolysis, alpha-fucosidase, gelatin hydrolysis, alpha- and beta-galactosidase,
beta-glucosaminidase, alpha- and beta-glucosidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, alpha-mannosidase, indole production,
lipase (C14), nitrate reduction, oxidase, trypsin, alpha-chymotrypsin, urease, valine arylamidase, crystine arylamidase, acid
production from glucose.
No assimilation of adipate, L-arabinose, capric acid, citrate, itaconate, malonate, glycogen, D-mannose, D-ribose, sucrose, salicin,
suberate and lactate.

Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative short rods, 0.8-0.9 x 1.2-1.4 μm. Non-motile.
Colonies on Nutrient Agar are ivory / yellow with entire margins, 0.1-2 mm in diameter.
Aerobic. Growth occurs at 10-37 ºC (optimal growth temperature 25-37 ºC). No growth
above 45 ºC. Growth occurs at pH 5-8 (optimum pH 5.5) and in the presence of 0-1%
(w/v) NaCl (optimum 0%, w/v).
Isolated from a soil sample from Gwanak Mountain, Republic of Korea.
