Positive results for acid and alkaline phosphatase, catalase, esculin hydrolysis, C4-esterase, leucine arylamidase, nitrate reduction,
ONPG, PNPG, oxidase, phosphoamidase,Tween 80 hydrolysis, urease, acid production from adonitol and D-glucose.
Can assimilate arabinose, arginine, citrate, D-gluconate, caprate, malate, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N-acetylglucosamine, lactate and
phenylacetate.
Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, DNase, alpha-fucosidase, gelatinase, glucuronidase, alpha- and beta-galactosidase,
alpha- and beta-glucosidase, N-acetylglucosidase, alpha-mannosidase, H2S production (TSI), indole production, lysine
decarboxylase, ornithine decarboxylase, nitrite reduction, denitrification, C14-lipase, amylase, C8-ester lipase, valine arylamidase,
cystine arylamidase, trypsin, chymotrypsin, tryptophanase, acid production from maltose, D-fructose and D-xylose.
No assimilation of adipate, sucrose, trehalose and norleucine.

Gram-negative rods.
Colonies after 2 days incubation on TSA are cream-coloured, circular, smooth and
convex with diameters of 1-2 mm. Temperature range for growth is 25-30 ºC; no
growth occurs at 42 ºC. Grows in 0-0.5% NaCl (w/v), not at higher concentrations.
Aerobe. Not haemolytic on blood agar. No growth in the presence of acetamide or on
cetrimide agar. No production of fluorescent pigment or other pigments.
Isolated from soil samples (a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon-contaminated soil in New Zealand, a compost heap in Belgium and
from the rhizosphere of maize in the Netherlands).
