Description is based mainly on API 20NE, API ID 32GN and API ZYM results.

Positive results for acid and alkaline phosphatase, catalase, esterase lipase, esterase C4, leucine arylamidase, beta-galactosidase,
beta-glucosidase, nitrate reduction, oxidase, naphthol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase, Tween 80 hydrolysis, tyrosine hydrolysis and valine
arylamidase.
Can assimilate / utilize: D-xylose, adipic acid, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, potassium gluconate, malic acid, N-
acetylglucosamine, D-ribose, inositol, itaconic acid, lactic acid, L-alanine, glycogen, D-glucose, L-fucose, phenylacetic acid, propionic
acid, L-histidine, 3-hydroxybutyric acid and L-proline.

Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, casein hydrolysis, chitin hydrolysis, carboxymethylcellulose hydoolysis, DNase, esculin
hydrolysis, gelatinase, alpha- and beta-galactosidase (contradiction in article - admin note), beta-glucuronidase, alpha-glucosidase,
H
2S production, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, alpha-mannosidase, alpha-fucosidase, indole production, lipase C14, pectin
hydrolysis, starch hydrolysis, urease, Voges–Proskauer test,  cystine arylamidase, trypsin, alpha-chymotrypsin and glucose
fermentation.
No utilization of: erythritol, D-galactose, L-rhamnose, D-sucrose, D-maltose, suberic acid, sodium malonate, sodium acetate, 2- and
5-ketogluconate, 3- and 4-hydroxybenzoic acid, L-serine, salicin, D-melibiose, capric acid, valeric acid and trisodium citrate.

Variable results for the utilization of D-sorbitol and trehalose.

Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 0.5-0.75 x 1.6-3.9 μm. Non-motile.
Colonies are milky, convex and circular with clear margins. Grows at 10-40 ºC
(optimum, 28 ºC), pH 4-8 (optimum, pH 6-7) and 0-2 % (w/v) NaCl. Strictly aerobic.
Isolated from soil cultivated with Korean ginseng in the Eumseong region of Korea.
