and urease.
Can assimilate glucose, mannose, mannitol, N-acetylglucosamine, gluconate, citrate, adipate, malate and phenylacetate.
Can utilize (Biolog GN2) alpha-cyclodextrin, dextrin, glycogen, N-acetyl-D-galactosamine, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, adonitol, D-

Gram-negative rods. Motile. Non-sporeforming.
Colonies on TSA agar are pale yellow, circular, smooth and convex with entire edges.
The colony size is approximately 1.0-1.5 mm in diameter on TSA agar after 48 h
incubation at 30 ºC. Growth occurs at 15-40 ºC (optimum, 30 ºC), at pH 4.0-8.0
(optimum, pH 7.0) and with 0-4% (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 1%) in trypticase soy broth.
Aerobic.
Isolated from weathered surfaces of rock (mica schist) in Susong, Anhui province, PR China.
Resistant to ampicillin, neomycin and rifampicin. Sensitive to chloramphenicol, tetracycline, gentamicin and kanamycin.
