Synonym:
Poseidonibacter parvus Kim et al. 2021.
Gram-negative, shortcurved rods, 0.5-0.9 x 0.6-1.5 µm. Motile by a single polar
flagellum.
Colonies are circular, convex and pinkish-brown on MA. Grows on MA and MA with
0.04% TTC (weak), but not on MA with 1% glycine. Does not grow on R2A, TSA,
MacConkey agar or NA supplemented with 4% sea salt. Grows at 10-25 ºC (optimum,
25 ºC), pH 6.0–9.0 (optimum, pH 7.0) and in 2-4.5% (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 3.5%).
Grows aerobically and microaerobically, but not under anaerobic conditions with
nitrate as an electron acceptor.
Isolated from a squid caught in Jumunjin Port, Republic of Korea.
Intermediate resistance to nalidixic acid (30 µg). Sensitive to cephalothin (30 µg).
Undetermined.
