Gram-positive rods, 0.4-0.6/1.0-1.2 µm, V-form arrangement. Nonmotile. Spores are
not produced.
On Marine Agar, after 3 days of incubation, the colonies are convex, yellow. Grows well
on R2A agar, LB agar, NA and TSA supplemented to 2% NaCl. Aerobic. Grows
anaerobically on MA supplemented with nitrate. Nonfastidious. Grows at 10-37 ºC (30
ºC optimum), and at 6.0-9.0 pH (7.5-8.5 optimum). Can grow in 0-14% NaCl medium.
Isolated from seau-jeot (shrimp jeotgal), a traditional fermented seafood in South Korea.

Oxidative metabolism. Not acid fast.
Some characters are based on API 20NE and API ZYM results.

Positive results for acid phosphatase (weak), alkaline phosphatase, catalase, esterase C4, esterase lipase, beta-galactosidase
(weak), gelatin hydrolysis, leucine arylamidase, nitrate reduction, oxidase, phosphoamidase, Tween 20 hydrolysis, Tween 80
hydrolysis and valine arylamidase (weak).

Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, casein hydrolysis, chymotrypsin, cystine arylamidase, esculin hydrolysis, alpha-fucosidase,  
alpha-galactosidase, alpha- and beta-glucosidase, beta-glucuronidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, indole production, lipase,
alpha-mannosidase, starch hydrolysis, trypsin, tyrosine decomposition and urease.

Cannot utilize D-arabinose, fructose, galactose, D-glucose, lactose, mannitol, mannose and raffinose.
