Gram-positive straight, irregular, short rods, 0.3-0.5 / 0.4-1.4 µm. Mycolic acids are
absent. Nonmotile. Spores are not produced.
Colonies are shiny, beige, smooth, 0.2 mm in diameter after 1 day in 5% CO2 on
sheep blood agar. Aerobic. Grows at 25-45 ºC (30-37 ºC optimum). Grows in 0-10%
NaCl medium.
Isolated from a human ankle discharge sample in Marseille.

Most characters are based on API ZYM, API Coryne and API Rapid ID 32A strips results.
Positive results for catalase, esterase (C4), esterase lipase (C8) (weak reaction),
leucine arylamidase, phosphoamidase and pyrazinamidase (weak reaction).
Negative results for acid phosphatase, alkaline phosphatase, arginine dihydrolase, cystine arylamidase, alpha-fucosidase, gelatin
hydrolysis, alpha- and beta-galactosidase, alpha- and beta-glucosidase, beta-glucuronidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, indole
production, lipase (C14), alpha-mannosidase, nitrate reduction, oxidase, pyrrolidonyl arylamidase, trypsin, alpha-chymotrypsin,
urease, valine arylamidase, acid production from: D-glucose, glycogen, lactose, maltose, mannitol, mannose, raffinose, ribose,
sucrose and xylose.
