Description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive diphtheroids cells, dumbbell-shaped (when examined after 18 hours
growth), showing typical coryneform morphology (when examined after 1 week of
growth). Non-spore-forming. Non-motile. Tuberculostearic acid and mycolic acids are
not present.
Colonies are light-grey on sheep blood Columbia agar, BHI agar and TSA.
Facultatively anaerobic growth.
Isolated from a cosmetic dry.
Undetermined.

Most biochemical reactions were determined by API Coryne, API 20 STREP & API ZYM.
Fermentative metabolism. Non acid-alchol-fast.
Positive results for alkaline phosphatase, catalase, esterase lipase (C8), hippurate hydrolysis, pyrazinamidase, Voges-Proskauer
reaction, acid production from: glucose and sucrose.
Negative results for acid phosphatase, chymotrypsin activity, cystine arylamidase, esculin hydrolysis, esterase (C4), gelatin
hydrolysis, alpha- and beta-glucosidase, alpha- and beta-galactosidase, beta-glucuronidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, indole
production, lipophilism, nitrate reduction, starch hydrolysis, urease, acid production from: arabinose, cellobiose, glycerol, glycogen,
inulin, lactose, maltose, mannitol, raffinose, rhamnose, ribose, salicin, sorbitol, trehalose and xylose.
