Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods.
Colonies are rough, circular and milky-coloured on TSA after 2 days incubation at 30
30 ºC. Growth occurs at 10-37 ºC (optimum, 30 ºC), at pH 5.0-9.0 (optimum, pH 7) and
wwith 0-7% (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 2-4%). Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from rice roots in China.
Potentially rice pathogen.

pyruvate, sucrose, raffinose, melibiose, methyl beta-d-glucoside, D-salicin, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, N-acetyl-beta-D-mannosamine,
D-galactose and L-serine

No acid production from adonitol, amygdalin, D- and L-arabitol, dulcitol, D- and L-fucose, fructose, glycogen, glucose, inulin, 2- and
5-ketogluconate, D-lyxose, maltose, mannose, mannitol, melezitose, methyl alpha-D-mannosidase, N-acetylglucosamine, sorbitol,
starch, sucrose, tagatose, trehalose, turanose, L-xylose, methyl beta-D-xyloside, and xylitol.
No utilization of maltose, trehalose, stachyose, beta-hydroxy-DL-butyric acid, alpha-ketobutyric acid, cellobiose, gentiobiose, turanose,
lactose, N-acetyl-D-galactosamine, 3-methyl glucose, D- and L-fucose, L-rhamnose, inosine, D-sorbitol, D-mannitol, D-arabitol,
L-histidine and L-pyroglutamic acid.
