Gram-negative rods, 0.9 x 1.5-3.0 μm, occuring singly or in pairs. Motile. Non-spore-
forming.
Colonies are light beige, circular, 1-1.2 mm in diameter, convex and with entire
margins After 24-48 hour incubation on nutrient agar at 26-28 ºC. Does not produce
fluorescent pigment on King’s medium B. Growth in yeast salt and liquid 523 medium
(Schaad et al., 2001) occurs at 36 ºC, but not at 39 ºC. Able to grow in 5% (w/v) NaCl.
Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from olive knots caused by Pseudomonas savastanoi pv. savastanoi. in Italy and Spain.

trehalose.

Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, citrate utilization, H
2S production, indole prduction, lysine decarboxylase, ornithine
decarboxylase, phenylalanine deaminase, oxidase, tryptophan deaminase, urease, acid production from D-adonitol, amygdalin,
L-arabitol, D-arabinose, cellobiose, dulcitol, erythritol, D- and L-fucose, glycerol, gentiobiose, glycogen, inositol, inulin,
5-ketogluconate, lactose, D-lyxose, maltose, melibiose, melezitose, methyl alpha-D-mannopyranoside, methyl
alpha-D-glucopyranoside, methyl beta-D-xylopyranoside, raffinose, starch, D-sorbitol, L-sorbose, sucrose, turanose, D-tagatose,
xylitol, D- and L-xylose.

Variable results for gelatinase, Voges-Proskauer test and acid production from salicin.
