Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 0.4-0.6×1.3-2.2 µm. Motile by peritrichous flagella.
Colonies on LB agar are circular, smooth, yellow and 1–2mm in diameter within 48h
at 30 ºC. Growth occurs at 12-41 ºC (optimum, 20-40 ºC), at pH 4.5-9.0 (pH 6.0-7.5)
and in the presence of 0-7.5% (w/v) NaCl (1.0-1.5%). Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from the gut of plastic-eating mealworm Tenebrio molitor L. in China.

arabinose (weak), L-arabinose,  arbutin, aesculin, fructose,  D-fucose (weak), galactose, glucose, glycerol (weak), gluconate (weak),
2- and 5-keto-gluconate (weak), inositol, lactose, mannitol, maltose, mannose, melibiose (weak), N-acetylglucosamine, rhamnose,
ribose, salicin, trehalose, and D-xylose.

Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, citrate utilization, gelatinase, H
2S production, indole production, lysine decarboxylase,  
oxidase, tryptophan deaminase, urease, acid production from adonitol, amygdalin, D- and L-arabitol, cellobiose, dulcitol, erythritol,  l-
fucose, glycogen, inulin, D-lyxose, melezitose, methyl alpha-ᴅ-mannoside, methyl alpha-D-glucoside, methyl beta-D-xyloside,
sorbose, sorbitol, raffinose, starch, sucrose, D-tagatose,  D-turanose, xylitol, and L-xylose.
