Basonym:
Pantoea theicola Tanaka et al. 2015.
Gram-negative, short rods, 0.8-1.2 x 1.5-3.0 μm, occurring singly or in pairs. Motile.
Colonies are circular, non-pigmented and convex, 0.6-1.0 mm in diameter after 24 h
of aerobic incubation at 30 ºC on tripticase soy agar. Growth occurs at 10-40 ºC
(optimally at 37 ºC), but not at 5 or 45 ºC. Growth occurs at pH 5-9 (optimally at pH 7).
Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from black tea.
Undetermined.
