Gram-positive, ovoid  cells, 1.2-1.5 um in diameter, arranged in pairs or in short
chains. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are yellow pigmented, round with raised margins, smooth and convex.
Non-hemolytic on blood agar at 37 ºC. Produces L-lactic acid and acetic acid in the
ratio of 9.6:1. Grows on BHI agar and M17 agar at 37 ºC. Grows at 10, 28 and 37 ºC
but not at 45 ºC. Growth is observed at pH 4-9 and in the presence of 2-6.5% NaCl,
but not at 8 and 10% NaCl. Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from fresh dromedary camel milk produced in Dakhla, Morocco.
Undetermined. Lactic acid bacteria.
