Gram-positive cocci.
Colonies on MRS agar are white to light grey and translucent. Colonies on bovine
blood agar are translucent, grey and alpha-hemolytic. Grows on azide-containing
enterococcal selective agar as light- to dark-maroon colonies and cause blackening
of bile-aesculin agar.
Grows well at 10 and 37 ºC. No growth at 2, 42 & 45 ºC. Grows well in the presence of
2 to 6.5% NaCl.
Isolated from from bovine materials and from the air of a poultry slaughter.

L-fucose, dulcitol, erythritol, glycogen, inositol, inulin, melibiose, D-turanose, xylitol, D-xylose, L-xylose, 2- and 5-ketogluconate.
Variable results for leucine arylamidase, pyrrolidonyl arylamidase, acid production from: adonitol, gluconate, glycerol, melezitose,
rhamnose, sorbitol, D-arabinose, L-arabinose, L-arabitol, D-lyxose, D-raffinose, D-tagatose and L-sorbose.
