Does not react with the Lancefield group D antigen antisera.
Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive cocci, 1.0-1.3 µm in diameter, occuring singly or in pairs. Non-motile.
Colonies after cultivation at 37 ºC for 3 days on MRS medium are circular, opaque,
ivory, smooth, raised and 1.0-2.0 mm in diameter. Grows at 10-37 ºC, pH 6.0–10.0
and in the presence of 0-5 % (w/v) NaCl, with optimal growth at 30-37 ºC, pH 8.0-9.0
and and in the presence of 0% (w/v) NaCl. Grows on kanamycin aesculin azide agar
but not on Slanetz-Bartley agar. Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from the gut of the camel cricket, Diestrammena coreana, in South Korea.

D-fructose, D-galactose, D-glucose, gentiobiose, 2- and 5-ketogluconate, lactose, maltose, D-mannose, methyl alpha-D-glucoside,
N-acetylglucosamine, D-ribose, salicin, trehalose, D-xylose, and methyl beta-D-xyloside.
Assimilates (Biolog GP2) alpha-ketovaleric acid, L-lactic acid, pyruvic acid methyl ester, pyruvic acid, adenosine, 2'-deoxyadenosine,
thymidine and uridine.
Negative results for alkaline phosphatase, catalase, cystine arylamidase, alpha-fucosidase, alpha-galactosidase,
beta-glucuronidase, alpha- and beta-glucosidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, lipase (C14), alpha-mannosidase, oxidase,
trypsin, valine arylamidase, acid production from D-adonitol, D- and L-arabitol, D-arabinose, dulcitol, erythritol, D- and L-fucose,
gluconate, glycerol, glycogen, inositol, inulin, D-lyxose, D-mannitol, methyl alpha-D-mannoside, melibiose, melezitose, raffinose,
