Lancefield A-G group antigens are not detected.
Gram-positive, ovoid-shaped cells, occuring in single cells, pairs, or short chains.
Non-motile.
Colonies are whitish, 0.5-2 mm in diameter, non-haemolytic.Grows at at 10, 30, 37,
and 45 ºC. but slow growth is observed at 10 ºC. Grows in BHI with 6.5 % NaCl.
Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from a swine-manure storage pit.
Undetermined.

raffinose (weak), rhamnose (weak), salicin, sucrose (weak), starch, trehalose (weak), D-turanose (weak), and D-xylose.

Negative results for alkaline phosphatase, arginine dihydrolase, catalase, coagulase, esterase (C4), esterase lipase (C8),
beta-glucosidase, beta-glucuronidase, glutamic acid decarboxylase, glutamyl glutamic acid arylamidase, hippurate hydrolysis, indole
production, lipase (C14), leucyl glycine arylamidase, alpha-mannosidase, nitrate reduction, oxidase, N-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase,  
proline arylamidase, trypsin, urease, Voges-Proskauer reaction, acid production from D-arabitol, cyclodextrin, glycogen, melezitose,
pullulan, D-ribose, sorbitol, and tagatose.

Variable results for acid phosphatase, cystine arylamidase, alpha-fucosidase, alpha-galactosidase, beta-galactosidase,
N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, leucine arylamidase, beta-mannosidase, valine arylamidase, acid production from methyl
beta-D-glucopyranoside.
