Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive, coccoid cells, 1 µm in diameter, usually occuring singly. Non-motile.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies on mMRS agar plate are small, circular, smooth, convex, with entire
margins, greyish-white and  0.5-1.0 mm in diameter after 2 days incubation at 30 ºC.
Can grow at 37 ºC, at pH 11, and in 5% NaCl. No growth at 45 ºC, at pH 5 or in 6%
NaCl. Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from traditional pickle juice in Heilongjiang province, in China.
Sensitive to 50 µg/ml neomycin sulfate, 5 µg/ml ampicillin and 5 µg/ml chloramphenicol. Resistant to 5 µg/ml neomycin sulfate, 300
µg/ml erythromycin, . Tellurite tolerant.

Positive results for esculin hydrolysis, H2S production, acid production from adonitol, D-arabitol, dulcitol, D-fructose, D-glucose
(without gas production), D-mannitol, D-mannose, maltose, N-acetylglucosamine, D-ribose, D-sorbitol, sucrose, and trehalose.

Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, catalase, esculin hydrolysis, hippurate hydrolysis, indole production, nitrate and nitrite
reduction, pyruvate utilisation, pyrrolidonyl arylamidase, urease, Voges-Proskauer reaction, acid production from amygdalin, D- and
L-arabinose, L-arabitol, arbutin, cellobiose, erythritol, D- and L-fucose, D-galactose, gentiobiose, glycogen, glycerol, gluconate, 2- and
5-ketogluconate, methyl-alpha-D-glucopyranoside, inulin, inositol, lactose, D-lyxose, melibiose, melezitose,
methyl-alpha-D-mannopyranoside, raffinose, L-rhamnose, salicin, L-sorbose, starch, D-tagatose, turanose,
methyl-beta-D-xylopyranoside, xylitol, D- and L-xylose.
