Gram-positive rods, 0.7-1.0 x 1.3-4.0 µm. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are round, white, smooth, glossy and 0.7 mm in diameter after 3 days at
30 ºC under anaerobic conditions on MRS agar. Grows at 30-50 ºC (optimally at
30-37 ºC), at pH 3.5-7.5 (optimally at pH 6.0) and in 0-4% NaCl medium.
Isolated from woody biomass, such as hardwood bark (a compost ingredient), in Japan.
Undetermined.
