Gram-positive rods, 0.6-0.8 / 1.2-3.0 µm, occurring singly, in pairs or in short chains.
Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are white, with a rough surface and circular with rough edges, 1-2 mm in
diameter after 48 h of anaerobic incubation at 30 ºC on MRS agar. Grows at 15-45 ºC,
at pH 4.0 and 8% NaCl. No growth at pH 8.0 or in 10% NaCl. Facultative anaerobic.
Isolated from stinky tofu brine in Shanghai, China.
