Synonym: Limosilactobacillus gorillae (Tsuchida et al. 2014) Zheng et al. 2020.
Gram-positive rods, 1 / 3-8 µm. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are white, convex, smooth, 1-2 mm in diameter after 2 days of anaerobic
incubation at 37 ºC on LBS agar. Optimum growth temperature is 37 ºC. No growth at
15 or 45 ºC. Grows in 4-6.5% NaCl media (weak growth in 8% NaCl). Facultative
anaerobic.
Isolated from the faeces of a captive western lowland gorilla.
Undetermined.
Heterofermentative.
Description is based mostly on API ZYM and API 50 CHL (bioMerieux) results.
