Gram-positive rods, 0.5-0.8 x 1.2-2.5 µm. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are white to beige, smooth, circular to slightly irregular, 1.0-2.5 mm in
diameter after 2 days of anaerobic incubation at 30 ºC on MRS agar. Grows at 15-40
ºC, optimally at 30-37 ºC, weak growth at 10 ºC. Grows in 0-9% NaCl, weak growth in
10% NaCl. Grows at pH 3.5-7.5, optimum pH 6.5-7.0. Facultative anaerobic.
Isolated from Pla-jom, traditional fermented fish, Thailand. Tellurite resistant.
