Homotypic synonym: Secundilactobacillus pentosiphilus (Tohno et al. 2017) Zheng et al. 2020.
Gram-positive rods, 0.7 x 1.1-1.5 µm. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are grey, 0.2-0.5 mm in diameter after 3 days of incubation at 30 ºC on MRS
agar. Grow slowly in MRS broth. Can grow at 30-37 ºC, pH 4.0-7.0, and in 4% NaCl.
No growth in 4% NaCl medium. Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from total mixed ration silage, Japan.
Undetermined.
