Lactobacillus suantsaiihabitans Lin, Wang, Wang, Tamura, Mori, Huang and Watanabe 2020.
Gram-positive rods, 0.75 x 2.4-3.7 µm, occurring singly, rarely in pairs. Non-motile.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are white, convex, slightly irregular, 1.0-2.0 mm in diameter after 2 days of
anaerobic incubation at 30 ºC on MRS agar. Non-haemolytic. Can grow at 20-37 ºC
(optimum 30 ºC), pH 4.0-10, and in 1-7% NaCl (variable in 8-10% NaCl). Facultatively
anaerobic.
Isolated from suan-tsai, a traditional fermented mustard product, Taiwan.
Undetermined.
