Gram-positive cells showing a rod–coccus cycle. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies after 48 hours incubation at 30 ºC, are circular, convex, opaque, white and
approximately 0.8-1.2 mm in diameter. Growth occurs optimally at 30 ºC, pH 7.0, and
in the presence of 3.0% (w/v) NaCl. Aerobic.
Isolated from soil in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, PR China.

API 20 NE), inositol, lactose, D-mannose, melezitose, D-mannitol, D-maltose, melibiose, methyl alpha-D-glucopyranoside, sorbitol,
sucrose, D-ribose, raffinose, trehalose, turanose and D-tagatose.
Can utilize D-glucose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N-acetylglucosamine, maltose, potassium gluconate, malic acid, trisodium citrate
and phenylacetic acid.
Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, citrate utilization, cysteine arylamidase, esterase (C4), alpha-fucosidase,
alpha-galactosidase, beta-glucuronidase, indole production, H2S production, lipase (C14), leucine arylamidase, nitrate reduction,
methyl red test, starch hydrolysis, trypsin, alpha-chymotrypsin, Tween 80 hydrolysis, valine arylamidase, Voges-Proskauer test, acid
production from D- and L-arabitol, D- and L-arabinose, D-adonitol, erythritol, D- and L-fucose, gentiobiose, glycogen, gluconate, 2-
and 5-ketogluconate, N-acetylglucosamine, inulin, D-lyxose, methyl alpha-D-mannopyranoside, L-rhamnose, L-sorbose, salicin,
starch, methyl beta-D-xylopiranoside, xylitol, D- and L-xylose.
No utilization of L-arabinose, capric acid and adipic acid.
