Gram-positive short rods and cocci. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies on BHA are smooth, convex, yellowish or whitish in colour and 1 mmin
diameter, are formed after 48 h. Growth occurs at 4 and 30 ºC, not at 37 ºC, and in the
presence of 1-10 % (w/v) NaCl. Strictly aerobic.
Isolated from organs (kidney, spllen, gut) of Greenland halibut (Reinhardtius hippoglossoides).

Negative results for beta-glucuronidase, gelatinase, nitrate reduction, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, pyrazinamidase, pyrrolidonyl
arylamidase, and urease.
No utilization of D- and L-arabinose, L-arabitol, adonitol, dulcitol, erythritol, D-fucose, L-fucose, glycogen, 2- and 5-ketogluconate,
D-lyxose, sorbitol, methyl alpha-D-mannoside, methyl alpha-D-glucoside, inositol, N-acetyl-beta-glucosamine, inulin,
melezitose,D-raffinose, ribose, starch, L-sorbose, D-tagatose, xylitol, methyl beta-xyloside, and D-xylose.
