Gram-positive, irregular rods, about 1.3-3.6 x 0.5-0.9 µm. Non-motile.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies on BHI agar are circular, smooth and creamy, about 1.5 mm after 24 h
incubation.Not pgmented. Growth occurs at 30 ºC, but not at 37 ºC. Aerobic.
Isolated from an air sample from the Russian space station Mir.

Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, amylase, cellulase, cystine arylamidase, alpha-chymotrypsin, DNase, esculin hydrolysis
(positive in Schumann's study), alpha-fucosidase, alpha-glucosidase, beta-glucuronidase, indole production, nitrate reduction,
oxidase, urease and glucose fermentation.
