Gram-positive, short rods 0.7-0.8 x 1.1-1.4 µm, occuring singly. Non-motile.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are light yellow, convex and round. Grows well on tryptic soy agar, nutrient
agar and R2A medium. Growth occurs at 4-33 ºC (optimally at 28-30 ºC), pH 5.0–10.0
(optimally at pH 7.0) and in the presence of 0-5.0% (w/v) NaCl (optimally at 0% NaCl).
Aerobic.
Isolated from forest soil in Ongjin county, South Korea.

Can assimilate D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N-acetylglucosamine, maltose, potassium gluconate, malic acid,
trisodium citrate, phenylacetic acid, L-rhamnose, D-ribose, inositol, D-sucrose, sodium acetate, lactic acid, L-alanine,
2- and 5-ketogluconate, L-serine, salicin, melibiose, propionic acid, valeric acid, L-histidine, and 3-hydroxybutyric acid.
Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, alkaline phosphatase, cystine arylamidase, chitin hydrolysis, CM-cellulose hydrolysis,
gelatinase, beta-glucuronidase, indole production, lipase (C14), starch hydrolysis, oxidase, trypsin, alpha-chymotrypsin, Tween 80
hydrolysis, valine arylamidase, acid production from glucose
No utilization of capric acid, adipic acid, itaconic acid, suberic acid, sodium malonate, glycogen, 3-hydroxybenzoic acid, L-fucose,
D-sorbitol, 4-hydroxybenzoic acid and L-proline.
