Gram-positive rods,  0.8–1.1 x 1.4–1.9 µm. No-motile. Rod-coccus life cycle is not
present.
Colonies on TSA incubated at 30 ºC for 48 h 2–3 mm in diameter, beige, shiny and
entire-edged.  Growth occurs at 37 ºC but not at 4 ºC, optimum temperature is 30 ºC.
Tolerates maximum 8% NaCl. Growth at pH 6.0-9.3, optimum pH 7.0. Aerobic.
Isolated from raw cow’s milk with high bacterial counts from the bulk tank of a dairy farm in Germany.

Positive results for catalase, alpha-glucosidase, leucine arylamidase, naphtol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase, alpha-mannosidase,
trypsin, and valine arylamidase.
Assimilates glycerol, D-glucose, D-mannose, D-cellobiose, maltose and potassium gluconate.

Negative results for acid phosphatase, esterase (C4), esterase lipase (C8), beta-glucosidase, alpha- and beta-galactosidase
(esculin), and oxidase.
No assimilation of D-fructose, methyl-alpha-D-glucopyranoside, mannose, melibiose, and D-ribose.
