Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive cocci, about 1 μm in diameter, occurring in pairs and tetrads.
Nonmotile. Endospores are not formed.
Colonies are orange-yellow, circular, convex and smooth after 2 days cultivation on an
agar plate of NBRC medium 802. Growth is detected at 15-37 ºC (optimum 28 ºC)
and pH 6.0-9.0 (optimum pH is 7.0). Grows in 0-15% (w/v) NaCl. Aerobic.
Isolated from the rhizosphere of a mangrove growing on Rambut Island, Indonesia.
Undetermined.

Description is based on API ZYM and API Coryne results.

Positive results for acid phosphatase, catalase, esterase (C4), esterase lipase (C8), gelatin hydrolysis, alpha-glucosidase, leucine
arylamidase, nitrate reduction, phosphohydrolase (weak reaction), pyrazinamidase, pyrrolidonyl arylamidase (weak reaction), trypsin
(weak reaction), urease, acid production from glucose, glycogen and D-xylose.

Negative results for alkaline phosphatase, chymotrypsin, cysteine arylamidase, esculin hydrolysis, fucosidase, alpha- and
beta-galactosidases, beta-glucosidase, beta-glucuronidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, lipase (C14), mannosidase, oxidase,
valine arylamidase, acid production from lactose, maltose, D-mannitol, D-ribose and sucrose.
