Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive cocci,1.0-1.3 μm in diameter. Nonmotile. Endospores are not formed.
Colonies on TSA are smooth, circular and cream-white. Grows at 15-37 ºC, at pH 7-9,
and with 0-10% (w/v) NaCl. Aerobic.
Isolated from an air sample collected in a medical practice in Germany.

Acid production was tested on API 50CHB/E kits (bioMerieux).
Positive results for catalase, casein hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis, oxidase, starch hydrolysis, urease, acid production from D-glucose,
maltose, sucrose, trehalose and turanose.
Can utilize D-glucose, maltose, sucrose and trehalose.
Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, esculin hydrolysis, beta-galactosidase, H2S production, indole production, nitrate reduction,
acid production from glycerol, erythritol , D- and L-arabinose, ribose, L- and D-xylose, adonitol, galactose, D-fructose, D-mannose,
L-sorbose, rhamnose, dulcitol, inositol, mannitol, sorbitol, N-acetylglucosamine, amygdalin, arbutin, esculin, salicin, cellobiose,
lactose, melibiose, inulin, melezitose, D-raffinose, starch, glycogen, xylitol, beta-gentiobiose, D-lyxose, D-tagatose, L-fucose, D- and
L-arabitol, gluconate, 2- and 5-ketogluconate.
No assimilation of D-mannose, D-mannitol, melibiose, D-sorbitol, L-arabinose or L-rhamnose.
