Phylum Actinomycetota, Class Actinomycetes, Order Micrococcales, Family Micrococcaceae, Genus Psychromicrobium,
Psychromicrobium lacuslunae Kiran et al. 2018.
Gram-positive cells, 0.5-0.8 x 1.1-2.5 µm, exhibiting a rod-coccus cycle. Non-motile.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies after 24 h at 28 ºC on TSA medium are creamy, smooth, opaque and convex
with entire margins. Growth occurs at 5-37 ºC, pH 5-12 and with 0-8% NaCl (w/v).
Aerobic.
Isolated from the undersurface water of Chandra Tal Lake in the Spiti valley of the state of Himachal Pradesh in India.
Sensitive to amoxyclav, ampicillin, cephalexin, cephalothin, ciprofloxacin, clindamycin, co-trimoxazole, erythromycin, gentamicin,
penicillin G and tetracycline. Resistant to oxacillin..

hydrolysis.

phenylalanine deamination, starch hydrolysis, trypsin, alpha-chymotrypsin, Tween 80 hydrolysis, urease, valine arylamidase, and
Voges-proskauer reaction.
No assimilation of L-arabinose and capric acid.

Contradictory results for beta-glucosidase (admin note).
