Gram-positive bent rods. Non-motile.
Colonies are creamy white, circular and convex after 24 h incubation at 30 ºC on TYB,
YDC or PYES agar, respectively. Mesophilic, growth occurs at 20-40 ºC (optimum 30
ºC) and pH 6.0-8.0 (optimum pH 7.0). Growth occurs with 0-4% (w/v) NaCl. Aerobic.
Isolated from a soil sample of Bidar Fort, Karnataka, India.
Sensitive to guanidine hydrochloride, fusidic acid, lithium chloride, tetrazolium blue and vancomycin.

L-pyroglutamic acid, L-serine, D-galacturonic acid, L-galactonic acid lactone, D-gluconic acid, D-glucuronic acid, mucic acid, quinic
acid, D-saccharic acid, D-lactic acid methyl ester, alpha-keto-glutaric acid, D-malic acid, L-malic acid, gamma-amino-butryric acid

and beta-galactosidase, H2S production, indole production, milk peptonization, nitrate reduction, oxidase, starch hydrolysis, Tweens
(20, 60 and 80) hydrolysis, and urease.
No utilization of sucrose, glycogen, adipic acid, D-mannose, phenylacetic acid, potassium gluconate, trisodium citrate, N-acetyl
neuraminic acid and bromo-succinic acid.
Acid is not produced (API 50 CH) from: D-arabinose, arbutin, D- and L-fucose, D-galactose, gentiobiose, D-glucose (fermented in API
20 NE), lactose, D-mannose, methyl alpha-D-mannopyranoside, methyl alpha-D-glucopyranoside, L-rhamnose, D-ribose, salicin,
D-sorbitol, and D-tagatose.
