Gram-negative, pleomorphic rods, 0.2-0.3 x 0.2-2.5 μm. Non-motile.
On Columbia agar, the colonies are 0.5-1.0 mm in diameter, circular, raised, smooth,
and semitransparent. Optimal growth occurred at 37 °C, pH 8.0 and 0.5% NaCl (w/v)
in NB. Produces homogeneous suspension in NB.  Beta-haemolysis is not produced
on 5.0% (v/v) sheep blood agar. No growth on MacConkey agar. Facultatively
anaerobic.
Isolated from lung of a cow in Kunming, Yunnan Province, P.R. China.
Isolated from dead cow with hemorrhagic pneumonia.

Positive results for acid and alkaline phosphatase, catalase, esterase, esterase lipase, L-aspartic acid arylamidase, beta-
galactosidase, beta-glucosidase, indole production, leucine arylamidase, N-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase, nitrate reduction, oxidase
acid production from: L-arabitol, galacturonate
and 5-ketogluconate.

Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, alpha-fucosidase, аlpha-glucosidase, alpha-galactosidase, beta-glucuronidase, lipase,
lysine decarboxylase, аlpha-maltosidase, alpha-mannosidase, malonate utilization, ornithine decarboxylase, protease, trypsin, аlpha-
chymotrypsin, urease, valine arylamidase, acid production from: adonitol, L-arabinose, D-arabitol, cellobiose, glucose, inositol,
maltose, mannitol, palatinose, rhamnose, sorbitol, sucrose and trehalose.
