Phylum Pseudomonadota (Proteobacteria), Class Gammaproteobacteria, Order Pasteurellales, Family Pasteurellaceae, Genus
Necropsobacter, Necropsobacter rosorum Christensen et al. 2011, type species of the genus.
Gram-negative coccoid or pleomorphic rods. Non-motile.
Colonies on bovine blood agar are regular, circular and slightly raised with an entire
margin, smooth, shiny, opaque with a greyish tinge and 2.0 mm in diameter after 24 h
of incubation at 37 ºC. Haemolysis is not observed on bovine blood agar. Grows on
MacConkey agar. No growth in the presence of KCN.
Isolated from lesions in laboratory rodents, rabbits and humans.
Undetermined.
