Seminibacterium, Seminibacterium arietis Vela et al. 2015, type species of the genus.
Gram-negative coccobacilli. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are alpha-haemolytic, circular, smooth, entire and approximately 1-2 mm
diameter on Columbia blood agar after 24 h incubation at 37 ºC. Grows at pH 3 but
not in 3% NaCl. NAD (V-factor) and hemin (X-factor) are not required for growth. No
growth on MacConkey agar. Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from the semen of a healthy ram.
Undetermined.
