Description is based mostly on API 20 NE strips (bioMerieux) and Biolog GN2 MicroPlates results.
Positive results for arginine dihydrolase, catalase, aesculin hydrolysis, gelatinase, nitrate reduction and oxidase.
Can utilize as sole carbon sources: glucose, arabinose, mannose, mannitol, N-acetylglucosamine, potassium gluconate, caprate,
malate and citrate.
Can oxidize: dextrin, glycogen, Tween 40, Tween 80, L-arabinose, D-fructose, alpha-D-glucose, D-mannose, D-psicose, turanose,
methyl pyruvate, monomethylsuccinate, acetic acid, cis-aconitic acid, citric acid, formic acid, D-gluconic acid, alpha- and
beta-hydroxybutyric acid, alpha-ketobutyric acid, alpha-ketoglutaric acid, alpha-ketovaleric acid, DL-lactic acid, propionic acid, quinic
acid, succinic acid, bromosuccinic acid, succinamic acid, L-alaninamide, DL-alanine, L-alanyl-glycine, L-asparagine, L-aspartic acid,
L-glutamic acid, glycyl-L-aspartic acid, glycyl-L-glutamic acid, L-histidine, hydroxy-L-proline, L-leucine, L-ornithine, L-phenylalanine,

Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 0.8-1.3 x 3.1-3.5 μm. Motile by one polar flagellum.
After 24 h of incubation at 30 ºC on LB agar, colonies are circular, beige in colour, flat
with regular edges and approximately 1 mm in diameter. When cultured using p-cresol
in a vapour state, it forms shiny, highly branched, mushroom-like aerial structures that
are several millimetres in size. Grows in the presence of 0-6% (w/v) NaCl and at 4-37
ºC (optimum at 18-25 ºC). Growth occurs between pH 5 and 10. A fluorescent pigment
is produced on Pseudomonas agar F, but no pyocyanin is produced on Pseudomonas
agar P. Aerobic.
Isolated from soil of Changwon, South Korea. Has the ability to grow on alkylphenols as the sole sources of carbon and energy.
