Pseudomonas arcuscaelestis Mulet et al. 2021.
Gram-negative rods, 0.6-1.0 x 1.2-3.4 µm. Motile by one polar flagellum.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies grown on Luria-Bertani are round or oval, flat, opaque and beige-coloured
with irregular margins, and are approximately 3-5 mm in diameter after growth for 2
days at 30 ºC. Produce fluorescent pigment on King’s B agar.  Pigment is not
produced on King A agar. Grows at temperatures between 4-37 ºC (optimum 30 ºC),
at pH 6.0-10.0 and in the presence of 0-6% (w/v) NaCl. Aerobic.
Isolated from rainbow trouts (Onchorhynchus mykiss) in Turkey, from sand of an intertidal shore on the Galicia coast in Spain and
from water collected at the Woluwe River in Belgium.

Positive results for catalase, nitrate reduction to nitrite and oxidase.
Can assimilate (API 20NE): glucose, gluconate, caprate, malate and citrate.
Can utilize as sole carbon source (Biolog GEN III system): alpha-D-glucose, methyl pyruvate, gamma-amino-butyric acid, D-fructose,
L-alanine, L-arginine, D-gluconic acid, L-lactic acid, beta-hydroxy-D,L-butyric acid, glycogen, L-aspartic acid, citric acid, L-glutamic
acid, alpha-ketoglutaric acid, L-histidine, D- and L-malic acid, propionic acid, L-pyroglutamic acid, quinic acid, acetic acid, formic acid,
D- and L-serine.

Negative results for aesculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis, reduction of nitrite to N
2 and glucose fermentation.
No assimilation of: arabinose, adipate, mannose, mannitol, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine and phenylacetate.
No utilization of: p-hydroxy-phenylacetic acid, Tween 40, D-mannose, glycyl-L-proline, D-galacturonic acid, alpha-hydroxy butyric acid,  
D-glucuronic acid, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, sucrose, inosine, D-saccharic acid, bromo-succinic acid  and D-aspartic acid.

Variable results for arginine dihydrolase and indole production.
Variable utilization of alpha-hydroxybutyric acid and mucic acid.

Other tests are negative or weak.
