Gram-negative rods, 1.0 x 1.5-4.0 µm. Motile.
Colonies are beige, round, entire, slightly raised, measure 2-3 mm in diameter after
1 day in incubation on TSA at 28 ºC. Most strains produce fluorescent pigments on
King’s B medium and are negative for pectinolytic activity. Growth generally occurs
on TSA and on King B at 4-36 ºC and up to 6% NaCl.
Isolated from leaves of soy bean crop collected from Villaviciosa, Asturias, Spain.
Produces dark-reddish spots on soybean leaves. Positive for the tobacco hypersensitivity reaction
