Genus Pseudomonas, Pseudomonas cannabina (ex Sutic and Dowson 1959) Gardan et al. 1999.
P. cannabina Gardan et al. 1999 includes Pseudomonas syringae pv. Cannabina.
Gram-negative rods, 1.1-3.0 x 3.0-4.0 µm. Motile by means of one to four polar flagella.
Colonies have a grey colour and are slightly convex on YPGA (Yeast extract Peptone
Glucose Agar). Metabolism is respiratory. Produces a fluorescent pigment on King B
medium. Optimum growth temperature is 28 ºC.
Isolated from plants - Cannabis sativa L.
Pathogenic on Cannabis sativa L. and by inoculation on Phaseolus vulgaris L.
