Species decription is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 1.0 x 2.0 µm. Motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies on nutrient agar (NA) medium are beige, 1.0-2.0 mm diameter after
incubation at 30 ºC for 24 h. Grows at temperature of  10-45 ºC (optimum 28-30 ºC), at
pH values of 5.0-6.0 and in the presence of 1.0-5.0% (w/v) NaCl.  Good growth occurs
after 48h on NA, brain-heart infusion (BHI) agar, tryptic soy broth (TSB) agar,
Reasoners 2A agar and MacConkey agar (all Oxoid) at 28 ºC. Aerobic.
Isolated from a powdered charcoal sample of unknown origin in 2012 in Alabama, USA.
Undetermined.
