Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative, straight rods, 0.7 x 1.9-2.5 µm, occurring singly or in pairs. Motile by
single or multiple polar flagella. Non-sporogenous.
Colonies are beige, circular convex, smooth, 0.5-1.0mm in diameter, after incubation
at 25 °C for 24h on Standard-I agar or Caso agar plus glucose, with brownish
colouring in areas of heavy confluent growth. Fluorescent on King B agar. A black
diffusible pigment and levan are produced on Czapek yeast extract agar. Growth
occurs at 2-33 ºC, optimally at 27-31 ºC. Growth occurs at pH 5.5-8.5 (optimum, pH
6.0-7.0) and in the presence of up to 6% (w/v) NaCl. Non-haemolytic. Strictly aerobic.
Isolated from refrigerated raw poultry processing meat (turkey).

Positive results for acid phosphatase, catalase, esterase (C4), esterase lipase (C8), gelatin hydrolysis, leucine arylamidase,
naphtol-AS-Bi-phosphohydrolase, oxidase and valine arylamidase.
Can utilize in API 20 NE: D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N-acetylglucosamine, potassium gluconate, capric acid,
malic acid and trisodium citrate.
Can utilize in Biolog GN2: Tween 40 and 80, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, D-arabitol, D-fructose, D-galactose, alpha-D-glucose,
D-mannitol, D-mannose, D-sorbitol, acetic acid, cis-aconitic acid, citric acid, D-galactonic acid lactone, D-galacturonic acid, D-gluconic
acid, beta-hydroxybutyric acid, itaconic acid, alpha-ketoglutaric acid, DL-lactic acid, malonic acid, propionic acid, D-saccharic acid,
succinic acid, bromosuccinic acid, L-alanine, L-alanyl-glycine, L-asparagine, L-aspartic acid, glutamic acid, L-histidine,
hydroxy-L-proline, L-ornithine, L-proline, L-pyroglutamic acid, L-serine, urocanic acid, inosine, 2-aminoethanol and glycerol.

Negative results for cystine arylamidase, alpha-chymotrypsin, aesculin hydrolysis, alpha-fucosidase, alpha- and beta-galactosidase,
lipase (C14), beta-glucuronidase, alpha- and beta-glucosidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, indole production from tryptophan,
alpha-mannosidase, nitrate reduction, urease and acid production from glucose.
No utilization in  API 20 NE:  maltose, adipic acid and phenylacetate.

Negative Biolog GN2 utilization: alpha-cyclodextrin, dextrin, glycogen, N-acetyl-D-galactosamine, cellobiose, fucose, gentiobiose,
lactose, lactulose, maltose, melibiose, methyl beta-D-glucoside, D-psicose, raffinose, L-rhamnose, turanose, xylitol, pyruvic acid
methyl ester, succinic acid mono-methyl ester, alpha-hydroxybutyric acid, p-hydroxy-phenylacetic acid, alpha-ketobutyric acid, sebacic
acid, succinamic acid, glycyl-L-aspartic acid, glycyl-L-glutamic acid, L-phenylalanine, D-serine, L-threonine, DL-carnitine, thymidine,
phenylethylamine, putrescine, 2,3-butanediol, DL-alpha-glycerol-phosphate, alpha-D-glucose-1-phosphate and
D-glucose-6-phosphate.

Variable results for arginine dihydrolase, alkaline phosphatase and trypsin.
Variable utilization  of: adonitol, i-erythritol, m-inositol, quinic acid, L-leucine, alpha-ketovaleric acid, L-arabinose, sucrose, formic acid,
glucuronamide, D-alanine, gamma-aminobutyric acid, D-glucosaminic acid, trehalose, D-glucuronic acid, L-alaninamide and
gamma-hydroxybutyric acid.
