Phylum Pseudomonadota (Proteobacteria), Class Gammaproteobacteria, Order Pseudomonadales, Family Pseudomonadaceae,
Genus Pseudomonas, Pseudomonas cuatrocienegasensis Escalante et al. 2009.
Gram-negative rods, 0.51-0.55 x 1.07-1.33 µm. Motile by a single, polar flagellum.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies on LB agar are beige, mucoid and irregular. No production of fluorescent
pigments is observed in King’s B medium. Good growth occurs on LB agar and GSP
agar at 28-32 ºC.
Isolated from an evaporative lagoon in Cuatro Cienegas, Coahuila State, Mexico.

Can assimilate / utilize: caprate, citrate (trisodic), D-fucose, potassium gluconate, malate, L-rhamnose and D-xylose
Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, aesculin hydrolysis, beta-galactosidase, gelatin hydrolysis, indole production, nitrate
reduction, urease and acid production from glucose.
No assimilation / utilization of: phenylacetate, D-fructose, D-galactose, glycerol, D-glucose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, maltose,
trehalose, L-arabinose, N-acetylglucosamine, D-ribose, adipate, erythritol, D-arabinose, L-xylose, D-adonitol, methyl
beta-D-xylopyranoside, L-sorbose, dulcitol, inositol, D-sorbitol, methyl alpha-D-glucopyranoside, methyl alpha-D-mannopyranoside,
amygdalin, arbutin, aesculin, ferric citrate, salicin, cellobiose, D-lactose (bovine origin), melibiose, D-sucrose, inulin, melezitose,
